POP Tip: Beachy Waves Overnight

26 Oct

I love the whole beachy wavy hair look. It’s no fuss, easy to do, looks amazing and can be as messy as you want it to be! Another plus, it’s super duper easy to do and it literally happens overnight. Don’t worry about braiding hair or curling it with your curling tongs or GHD, all you need to do is follow these few simple steps.

First, wash your hair. You can use a volumising shampoo and conditioner if you’d like but I don’t. Simply because I’ve found a shampoo and conditioner combo that works with my hair and can’t be bothered. Lazy I know, but hey, this whole post is for lazy-people-who-want-fab-hair. Then scrunch in a volume boosting moose, which will help hold the style and give it some extra oomph.

Secondly, grab random sections of your hair and twist into mini-buns, secure with a bobby pin.

Now you can either choose to go to sleep with the pins in if you’ve done this at night, or if you’ve done it during the day, wait for your hair to dry, take out the pins and shake out that sexy sexy hair. Ola Giselle.

Either way, once you’ve taken out the pins lightly run your fingers through your hair to define the waves and spritz with a little sea salt spray or my personal fav, Redken Wool Shake. And there you have it! Perfectly sexy dishevelled, oh-i-just-woke-up-like-this waves (which technically you did).

Oh my, I sure do use a lot of stuff… And this doesn’t even include my “whenever I feel like it” products! Eg, Clarins Beauty Flash Balm, assorted lipsticks/lip glosses that rotate on a daily basis, random face masks by APIVITA…

I just realised I use a lot of APIVITA and nearly all of my skincare/body/haircare products are either organic or ‘natural’. How interesting, I’ve never actually actively sought out organic products only! I guess my beauty subconscious is on the right track then 🙂

Anyway, leave me a comment with what you use or post your own version of what you use and let me know! I love reading about other people’s routines! Yes, I am a bit of a sticky beak…

Hello Faux Clean Hair!

12 Oct

Don’t have time to wash your hair? I’ll bet your hair is looking a little on the limp side of things. To fool everyone into thinking you have freshly washed and sexy voluminous hair, all it takes is a few minutes.

Shake your head up-side down, spray with a little hairspray and then blast it with the hairdryer on high for a few seconds.

Flip your hair back up and section the top parts of your hair and spray the roots with Batiste dry shampoo (it’ll make your hair smell nice).

Work it in then grab your GHD and pop in a few random curls all over the place.

Lastly, secure two sections of hair from both sides of the face at the crown by overlapping two bobby pins so they create an “X”.

This half up curled hair look is great if you’re in a rush, need a little oomph & volume or need to keep your hair out of your eyes without taking the focus off your face.

Try it and let me know how it goes!
